Among the novelties are two fresh interpretations of the 35mm Ingenieur Automatic. The IW324911, a 35 × 9.4mm timepiece, introduces a luxurious touch with an 18K 5N red gold screw-on bezel adorned with 45 white diamonds, totaling 0.7 carats. Its dial, featuring the signature grid pattern reminiscent of the 1970s Ingenieur, is complemented by gold-plated appliques and hands, all equipped with Super-LumiNova for enhanced readability. The IW324907, a stainless steel variant, enriches the 35mm range with a vibrant blue dial, echoing IWC's historical use of blue in its timepieces, such as the Ingenieur Automatic reference 866AD from the late 1960s.
Both 35mm models boast a transparent case back, revealing the IWC 47110 caliber. This automatic movement operates at 4Hz, featuring 23 jewels and a 42-hour power reserve. Its intricate finishing includes perlage, concentric Côtes de Genève, blued screws, and a gold-plated rotor, all while maintaining a practical 10-bar water resistance. The diamond-set IW324911 is priced at approximately €18,800, while the blue-dial steel IW324907 is available for around €11,300.
In a departure from metal, IWC also unveiled the Ingenieur Automatic 42 ref. IW338902, encased in a striking dark olive-green ceramic. This 42 × 11.5mm model ties as the largest in the current Ingenieur collection, drawing inspiration from a custom green-dial Ingenieur previously seen on Hollywood actor Brad Pitt. The creation of such colored ceramic cases is a complex process, involving the precise blending of zirconium oxide with various metallic oxides, with color consistency being a significant challenge due to changes during sintering. The watch is further accented with 18K 5N gold components, including the crown and bezel screws, and offers a 10-bar water resistance. Powering this piece is the IWC-manufactured 82110 caliber, providing a 60-hour power reserve. This impressive ceramic Ingenieur retails for about €23,700.
A notable addition is the Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar 41 ref. IW344904, crafted from titanium, a material IWC has extensively utilized throughout its history. This 41.6mm timepiece, with a 13.2mm profile, features a sophisticated perpetual calendar displayed across three sub-dials, complete with a moon phase and a leap-year indicator. The IWC-manufactured 82600 caliber, a 46-jewel movement with a 4Hz frequency and a 60-hour power reserve, drives this complex mechanism, which allows all adjustments to be made via the crown, ensuring the watch's 10-bar water resistance remains uncompromised. The titanium Ingenieur Perpetual Calendar is priced at approximately €44,100.
Finally, a limited edition of 100 pieces, the Ingenieur Tourbillon 41 ref. IW345901, stands out with its 41.6 × 12.1mm case and bracelet, both made from 18K 5N red gold. The watch features a deep green dial that beautifully contrasts with the gold. It houses the IWC-manufactured 82905 caliber, which boasts an 80-hour power reserve and a Pellaton winding system that incorporates ceramic components for enhanced durability. Special attention has been given to the movement's finishing, including gold-plated bridges and a rotor adorned with Geneva stripes and a solid gold "Probus Scafusia" medallion. The highlight is the flying one-minute tourbillon visible at 6 o'clock, a marvel of engineering weighing only 0.635 grams. This exclusive red gold tourbillon model's price is available upon request.
